CLIFFORD E. KATZ
Clifford Katz brings to Sotheby's International Realty over 20 years of experience representing clients in a broad range of sophisticated transactional and advisory assignments. With an emphasis on single-family townhouses brokerage, assignments have varied from site assemblage to design-development and new construction. Core clients include affluent families, not-for-profit and governmental entities, investors and real estate developers. Prior to joining Sotheby's he was the founder and president of Mobius Realty Holdings LLC, a prominent Manhattan townhouse brokerage boutique, founded in 1999.
With a career that began in 1987 as a practicing real estate attorney in Manhattan, Clifford has had extensive experience in every aspect of the townhouse, condominium and co-op marketplace. The majority of his activities involve the representation of owners selling properties, and providing strategic guidance relating to New York City real property valuation, rental and occupancy, and zoning and building code issues relevant to the long-term positioning of properties for maximum resale value.
Prior to founding Mobius Realty, Clifford established the rental division of a 100-year-old luxury residential sales brokerage firm, where he was responsible for firm-wide recruiting, training and managing of staff. Core clients included corporate executives, principals in privately held and publicly traded companies and prominent sports and entertainment figures.
Clifford is a cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College and holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. Clifford is a member of the New York State Bar, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the Real Estate Board of New York, and is a frequent lecturer and commentator on a wide range of real estate related topics.
